Notes from the UnsafeCSharp Presentation

At work each month a set of hours are set aside/scheduled for employees to learn something new. I have worked at more than a dozen companies and have never seen a periodic time scheduled in the company calendar for it. Yesterday we had eight hours scheduled for learning. During that time an invite for a one hour presentation UnsafeCSharp showed up. I watched and enjoyed it. In addition most presentations at work are recorded so I am planning on watching it again later today.

AWS Platform

It seems like every single plant, tree, or bush is budding and flowering in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. The results are a large concentration of pollen which does not go well with people like my wife and me that have allergies. Not sure if it was the huge amount of snow we received last winter or … (fill in as you wish), but the weather is changing. Seems like some days our temperature is below average, but when you compare the highs and lows for the year with others, there seems to be a slight trend upwards. That might be the reason why plants are blooming and therefore making it hard for allergy sufferers. Continue reading “AWS Platform”

Node.js Issue – RESOLVED

A couple days ago the temperature in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul rose up to 70 F. Yesterday the highs were in the upper 50s. Today the temp is going to go as high as 34 F and will be raining and snowing. Not sure how much snow and rain we will be getting. Hopefully things will not flood.

I am working with micro services and Node.js in order to streamline a storage server currently implemented by three monolith services. We will be going the hybrid route for a while. Eventually all will be implemented with Docker and possibly running on a public cloud (i.e., AWS or Azure). Continue reading “Node.js Issue – RESOLVED”
