Styling React Components and Elements

I continue pushing forward with the React course by Maximilian Schwarzmuller by O’Reilly via my subscription with ACM Learning.

Today is a nice summer day in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. The private streets in the neighborhood where I live are being redone. Part of the work is on gutter drainage, some on replacing some of the curbs and finally a fresh double coat of asphalt. Today’s work started shortly after garbage and recycling trucks picked up their corresponding items. After the trucks left, noise and dust were all over the neighborhood. Right now all is quite. Combinations

Hello gals and guys! It seems that during the COVID-19 pandemic time goes faster. It is Saturday and the work week went by in the blink of an eye.

This post was motivated by a HackerRank problem which I am getting ready to tackle. I decided to experiment with combinations and factorials to make sure that a brute approach to the actual problem would be futile. In my next post will tackle the basis for a better approach.

Tree Preorder Traversal

Good morning! It is a sunny and warm Sunday morning in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. Yesterday due to high temperature and humidity concerns, my wife and I decided to start lunch earlier than usual. We finished our mid morning cup of triple espresso around 11:00 AM.

My wife made some nachos. She used small tortilla chips, and a block of Colby-Jack cheese which she shredded in the Ninja blender. For the salsa she used one or two avocados, some jalapenos from a jar and some Pace picante medium strength sauce. The plain tortillas with the cheese were placed in a 350 F oven for about 20 minutes. That melted the cheese. Continue reading “Tree Preorder Traversal”

Working with Lists and Conditionals – React

It is a dark summer morning in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. The official temperature is 75 degrees Fahrenheit and the humidity 98%. Yesterday the forecast for the day was for thunderstorms all day today. When we have severe thunderstorms I prefer to read a magazine and keep all computers powered down. So far I have not heard rumble so I decided to attempt to write this post before things get ugly and I have to switch tasks.

My wife has let me know that the thunderstorms have arrived! Will pick up when they are done. OK, I am back. The thunderstorms lasted about an hour. It seems that the rest of the day will be fine. Continue reading “Working with Lists and Conditionals – React”

Understanding the Base Features and Syntax – React

The COVID-19 pandemic started in Wuhan, China continues to infect and kill people all over the world. As of today Wednesday July 08, 2020 the world total confirmed cases and deaths are 11,900,855 and 545,728 respectively. Of course these numbers include reports from countries that are estimating (e.g., Peru and most Latin America countries) and countries (e.g., China) that for their political and financial gain report bogus numbers. Hopefully better treatments which will drastically reduce the symptoms and general public access vaccines will become short term realities.
